Koronaviruksen leviäimisen estotoimenpiteiden vuoksi idealaboratorio keskiviikolta 25.3. Musiikkitalossa on peruttu. Idealaboratorion vaihtoehtoista järjestämitapaa ja päivää tutkitaan parhaillaan. Lisätietoa tulossa pian!

CLUB CRISIS WHAT? Helsingin elävän musiikin ekologia Tervetuloa Juurista latvoille -hankkeen toiseen idealaboratorioon Helsingin Musiikkitaloon keskiviikkona 25.3.2020 klo 15-18. Helsingin elävän musiikin ekologia muuttuu huimaa vauhtia klubien kadotessa keskustasta ja niiden siirtyessä ja muodostaessa uudenlaisia keskittymiä muihin kaupunginosiin.
Idealaboratoriossa pureudutaan pääkaupunkimme tämän hetkiseen venueiden ja festivaalien tilanteeseen elävän talouden näkökulmasta. Elävän musiikin tulevaisuus rakentuu kestäväksi ekologisen, kulttuurisen ja sosiaalisen ulottuvuuden kautta. Idealaboratorion tavoitteena on osoittaa seikkoja, mitkä estävät tai ovat haitallisia nuorten osallisuudelle elävässä kaupunki- ja musiikkikulttuurissa. Keskustelussa kuullaan näkökulmia niin musiikkialalta, kaupungilta, yliopistoilta, yhteisöistä ja aktivisteilta.
Idealaboratorioissa syntyvä tieto on avointa dataa (Creative Commons).

CLUB CRISIS WHAT? Helsinki live music ecology Where: Helsinki Musiikkitalo (room TBA) When: 25th March 2020, 15:00 – 18:00 Language: English / Finnish The current live music ecology of Helsinki is rapidly changing, with clubs closing in the city centre and the creation of clusters in gentrifying areas of the city. Although the situation is not as alarming as in Berlin and London, this shift carries consequences for the whole Finnish live music ecosystem and other cities might fall into the same logic. The idea is to tackle the current live venue and the festival situation in the Finnish capital in terms of a living ecology. We want to address with you what is exactly happening in terms of the clustering of music, shifting of nightlife centres and scenes and what this implies for younger generations. We will also compare this case with other capitals and cities across Europe and see how local policies (ranging from the establishment of night mayors to social work) shaped live music and its sustainability. Moreover, the future of live music can only be sustainable in the ecological, cultural and social dimension. How can we achieve this and leave a better live music experience to the younger generations? The main aim of this idealab is to identify issues, which might be detrimental to welcoming the youth into the current/future Helsinki live ecology. This discussion will feature stakeholders from the music industry, from the municipality and universities along with collectives and activists. The content produced in these laboratories will be open data as Creative Commons.
